Alpine has finally return a mostly - firm engagement for its new in - car iPod interface , the KCA-420i , updating their internet site to show a “ belated September ” availability . The connector is one of the most hopeful iPod car arranger out there , connecting to any of Alpine ’s head units that confirm its Ai - nett touchstone ( which unfortunately explains the relatively chinchy $ 100 price ) . The KCA-420i also supports Alpine ’s MediaXpander engineering that set about to add back in the harmonic lost in MP3 compaction on the fly , making your so - so sounding contract audio phone much closer to its atomic number 48 - quality rootage ( and although I have n’t personally heard MediaXpander , I ’ve actually heard nothing but good things about it ) .
More betterness , and links , after the jump .
Not so much use for me these days , since my car is basically a $ 350 - a - calendar month ticket magnet now ( thanks , Brooklyn ! ) , but if you ’ve already invested in Alpine , it does n’t look like a spoilt way to go , especially since — if I ’m parsing this aright — all your steady playlist and such will still be approachable , unlike the late iPod Your BMW setup we ’ve been talking about . ( Thanks , Aaron ! )
