Amazon employees are prepare an unionised military action for a collective digital “ sick - out ” to protest therecent firing of two employeeswho raised concerns over condition in the party ’s warehouses and the lack of protections for worker on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic .
Amazon Employees for Climate Justice foretell this week that it ’s asking employees to call in sick on Friday , April 24 , after Amazon terminated point-blank critic Emily Cunningham and Maren Costa , who were both members of the group . On that Friday , AECJ will host a livestream with Cunningham and Costa as well as warehouse workers who will share their experience with work in Amazon ’s readiness during the coronavirus crisis . In ablog postabout the action , AECJ wrote that the firings were a “ egregious misuse of business leader . ”
An Amazon spokesperson decline to remark on the walkout other than to provide a financial statement on the firings .
