In the real human race , there ’s pretty much an app for everything — maps , music , videos , messaging , making digital cats fart . The first issue of Astonishing Ant - Man , out today , adds another of the essence app : One seamster made to murder superheroes . hold off , what ?
Spoilers ahead , of course .
The Astonishing Ant - Man ’s principal focus is n’t actually on the goofy app — we’ll get to that afterward . It ’s largely re - launch the condition quo of Scott Lang as Ant - Man that is , mostly , exchangeable to his earlier serial publication from this year .
Scott ’s still separated from his wife and his daughter Cassie , but the security solution patronage he wanted to establish , both to show his reformation from a stealer , and to be near his family in Miami , is grow into the swinging of things . It ’s courteous , give that Scott already had a brisk start before Secret Wars demanded everyone originate at issue # 1 again . Before , Power Broker ’s schtick was that , for a terms , he give normal masses superhuman powers . His unexampled one , however is a much more modern villainy : the Hench App .
Power Broker give Cross a practical demo of Hench , which targets a specific hero , dissect their weaknesses , and then dispatch a couple scoundrel to bolt down say hero for a fee . It ’s basically like Uber for supervillains . Get paid to kill superheroes , all through one leisurely mobile app !
Naturally , as it ’s only the first number , Scott is n’t down thanks to the fire from Whirlwind — Power Broker cancels the hit on Ant - Man at the last minute , just to secure the hope of financial support from Cross . But he does get a feedback from the app request for his worry :
It ’s a brightly cockamamie patch equipment , and works as a advanced update for Power Broker . Plus , it just kind of makes sense in a comic in 2015 , especially one like Astonishing Ant - Man that tend a little more to the irreverent , down - to - world side of superheroics . Hopefully Hench will become a piece of an on-going thing for Scott to have to mete out with . That “ other thing ” he bury to mention ?
In the 8 months between Astonishing Ant - Man and the reboot of the universe in Secret Wars , Scott found himself back in prison house . The more things change for Scott Lang , the more they stay the same .
