Oh letters patent wars , is there any mellow you ca n’t abrasive ? A German court justruled in Apple ’s favoron a patent that could , theoretically , force Moto to destroy a bunch of its devices . My crystal ball order that wo n’t materialise .
The court find that Motorola Mobility infringed upon EU Patent No . EP2059868 , which is the way that exposure kinda ricochet back when you ’re zoomed in on them and you over - roll . FOSS Patentssays that that the ruling could pull Moto to confound wads of earphone onto a pyre and set up them aflare :
If Apple implement the ruling , it can even require Motorola to destruct any infringing production in its possession in Germany and recall , at MMI ’s disbursal , any infringe products from German retail merchant so as to have them destroy as well .
Is it just me , or is that totally harebrained ? This is n’t a computer hardware patent of invention , it ’s software , so why would devices need to be destroyed ? And before it total to that , do n’t you consider Motorola would just push a simple software update ? Yeah , so does Moto . It alreadytold Bloombergthat it has “ implemented a new way to see picture ” . Obviously , that will be on new equipment go forward , and if older devices are being imperil they ’ll probably just push the fixture in a spry over - the - tune update .

Today ’s ruling in Munich , Germany on the patent judicial proceeding brought by Apple concerns a software feature associated with do sure functions when view photos in a ‘ zoom along in ’ mode on peregrine devices . We mention that the Court ruled that performing the functions in a ‘ zoomed out ’ manner does not infringe on this patent .
