Ayo Edebiri Pokes Fun at Prior Negative Comment About Jennifer Lopez as They Appear on SNL: ‘24 and Stupid’

“Today I was actually thinking about one of my favorite scams of all time because J.Lo isperforming at the Super Bowl Halftime Show,” she said at the time. “Her whole career is one long scam.”

After Mosley questioned Lopez’s singing abilities, Edebiri continued, “Well, that’s the thing. She thinks she’s on multiple tracks, but it’s not her. I think she thinks that she’s still good even though, like, she’s not singing for most of these songs.”

“A lot of the write-ups of the songs will be like, ‘J.Lo didn’t have time to make it to the studio,’ like, J.Lo was busy,” she added. “It’s like, ‘Doing what?’ Not singing, obviously.”

During her hosting gig onSNL, Edebiri became visibly emotional will giving heropening monologue, as sheexplained how meaningful the moment was for her.

Lopez, meanwhile, served as the evening’s musical guest to promote her upcoming album,This Is Me… Now, which will drop on Feb. 16.

The star first performed her upbeat track “Can’t Get Enough” withLattoand REDMAN, who both joined her on stage for cameo appearances.

Later in the show, Lopez sang the title track from her forthcoming ninth studio album in an off-the-shoulder floral floor-length gown.
