Ben & Jerry ’s finally agree to remove the “ all rude ” label from their water ice cream products , which contain hydrogenated oil , alkalized cocoa , corn sirup , and other ingredients that are n’t “ natural ” — eight years after a guard dog system first raised fear .
Ben & Jerry ’s , which is a building block of consumer intersection pudding stone Unilever , agreed to bump off the “ all natural ” labelafter the Center for Science in the Public Interestsent the company a letter last month , pointing out that at least 48 of its products were tag “ all natural ” when they incorporate non - rude ingredients . Still , in response to CSPI ’s ailment , back in 2002 , Ben & Jerry’sreportedly agreed to remove hydrogenated oil from its product , and to remove the “ all natural ” label from its products that still contained stilted factor . But plain , this did n’t last , since the CSPI nurture the issue again this summer .
So how bad is hydrogenated oil , in finical ? Well , consider the fact that Ben & Jerry ’s parent company , Unilever , made this pledge in a July 2009 printing press release :
