The upcomingSpace Exploration Signature Auctionby Heritage Auctions ( November 1 , Dallas ) put up piles of fascinating outer space material for sale ( as space auction unionise by HA always does ) . Browsing through the 473 mess I have found these prescribed NASA photographs especially interesting .
These photos depict various scene taken in the operations and recovery rooms during unmanned and manned spaceflights , bear witness ground heroes of spaceflights : foreign mission control worker , flight theater director , and executives . Most of the images was shot by longtime NASA photojournalist Andrew “ Pat ” Patnesky , who was at Mission Control for every flight and became an integral part of these trajectory teams .
The moment of shock : thisfamous shotshows Jay H. Greene flight director during the Challenger tragedy in 1986 , shortly after he learned that “ Challenger ’s launching phase was not nominal . ”

A present moment of joyousness : Eugene F. Kranz flight of stairs theatre director is rubbing Patnesky ’s nous for “ luck ”
