These artworks were made byUtagawa Kuniyoshi(1797 - 1861 ) , one of the last great Nipponese masters of theukiyo - estyle were really a novelty of its age . Kuniyoshi started to use cats instead of man in satiric kabuki prints in the other 1840s .
