Principle picture taking has started on Kenneth Branagh ’s live - action adaptation of Cinderella , and already we ’re get the look for this Modern variety of Disney Princess .
Disney has just relinquish the first - ever image of Lily James ( Downton Abbey ) as Cindy . Riding a horse that is too beautiful to be real , her low-spirited dress is muddy and her blonde locks are untamed . We love it . It ’s get whimsy and wild pretty lady all over it . Plus at some point ( we ’re hope ) Cinderella will pluck around in that grass with her Prince Charming , play by Richard Madden from Game of Thrones . Fingers crossed the first image of Cate Blanchett as the malevolent stepmother and Helena Bonham Carter as the fairy godmother are equally as impressive .

The fib of “ Cinderella ” be the fortune of young Ella whose merchant father remarries stick with the tragic demise of her female parent . Keen to indorse her love father , Ella welcome her Modern stepmother Lady Tremaine and her daughters Anastasia and Drisella into the family home . But , when Ella ’s Padre suddenly and unexpectedly passes off , she finds herself at the mercy of a green-eyed and cruel new family . ultimately relegate to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes , and spitefully rename Cinderella , Ella could easily begin to turn a loss hope . Yet , despite the cruelty inflicted upon her , Ella is determined to respect her female parent ’s dying lyric and to “ have bravery and be kind . ” She will not give in to despair nor despise those who misuse her . And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the Sir Henry Joseph Wood . Unaware that he is really a prince , not just an employee at the Palace , Ella in conclusion feels she has met a kindred soul . It appear as if her luck may be about to switch when the Palace broadcast out an open invitation for all maidens to wait on a ball , raising Ella ’s Bob Hope of once again encountering the witching “ Kit . ” Alas , her stepmother veto her to attend and callously rips apart her dress . But , as in all unspoiled poove narration , helper is at hand as a kindly beggar woman steps forward and , arm with a autumn pumpkin and a few mouse , changes Cinderella ’s liveliness always .
