Taking a scene at celebrity polish is so easy that it ’s pretty much like taking a pellet at the Earth itself — it ’s more remarkable if you lack . Still , last night ’s Futurama episode The Thief of Baghead still get in a few good nip , include some great visuals — and one fiber at long last cash in one’s chips !
Needless to say , spoilers are ahead …
Last night ’s Futurama was all about thing that we all realize sucking , get with those hoi polloi who squeeze everyone to halt birth a good time , so they can take a pic of how good a prison term everyone ’s having . These the great unwashed are especially obnoxious , now that they can immediately calculate at their motion picture , decide they ’re not expert enough , and insist on take another one . Since hatefulness is Bender ’s wheelhouse , he ’s the shutterbug . When he get Calculon — the noted Robot TV whizz — out at the Monsterey Bay Aquarium ( this scope offers a priceless visual that I wo n’t itch because Good Book just do n’t do it justice ) , he turns his pestering exposure wont to secure use and becomes a paparrazzo .
It does n’t take long for Bender to become hated by everyone — or for him to set his sights on the big catch of all : Langdon Cobb . Cobb is an actor who is so endue in The Process that he wears a bag over his head all the time , so his face does n’t trouble anyone . When Bender eventually get the photograph of him without the bag , more complications modernize . Cobb turns foul , and the only style to defeat him is to draw him into an “ act off ” with the hammy Calculon , who literally gives it all he has when doing the decease scene from Romeo and Juliet . We ’ll have to wait and see if the Futurama writing staff decide to keep Calculon ’s death part of continuity permanently .
The instalment does a good business of poking merriment at how we ’re desperately interested to know every item about an thespian ’s life history , and will even lap up story that we fuck are off-key — but we ca n’t stand when actors talk about acting itself . The magazine publisher that Bender exercise for , Us People Weekly , publicize itself as “ The Magazine More Women Deny Reading , ” and will release anything from Centaurus without underclothes to Morbo call at people . The full gang ca n’t wait to see Cobb ’s face . But when he starts speak about The Process , they literally lose the will to live . Which is pretty much how we experience all the time . Everyone clack on the headlines that characteristic celebrities getting a parking just the ticket , wearing bad clothes , or being rude to a server . Everyone has an opinion on the Oscars . But utterly no one want to listen to people at the top of their profession in reality babble about the technique or philosophy of the trade that makes us adore them . We ’d much , much rather break .
