This is what the Lord’s Day looks like over the course of a year . NASA ’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the Sun and all of its fiery grace from January 1 , 2015 to January 28 , 2016 . That beautiful burning orb looks unbelievable in this amount of detail .
NASA Goddard write :
SDO ’s Atmospheric Imaging Assembly ( AIA ) captures a guesswork of the sunlight every 12 second gear in 10 dissimilar wavelength . The image depict here are based on a wavelength of 171 A , which is in the uttermost ultraviolet range and evidence solar cloth at around 600,000 kelvins ( about 1,079,540 degree F ) . In this wavelength it is easy to see the sun ’s 25 - day gyration .

During the course of the video , the sunlight subtly increases and decreases in apparent sizing . This is because the space between the SDO space vehicle and the sun change over time . The image is , however , remarkably consistent and static despite the fact that SDO orb Earth at 6,876 miles per hour , and Earth orbits the sun at 67,062 mph .
