Finally , there ’s the Machine , a twist that sees and have it away all because it ’s hooked into every potential form of surveillance in New York City . Every week , it feed Finch the social security number of a someone who is at the center of a rule that will flare into violence . Episode 15 : “ Blue Code ”
While this episode does n’t focus on the Machine very much , it does lay out one of the principle dystopian ribbon in the serial . As Reese tail assembly his act of the week , he discovers that the guy is an secret bull who has figured out that the head of a infamous drug anchor ring is in fact a CIA secret agent . The CIA is using drug money to fund the war on terror . We also learn a act more about Reese ’s backstory as a CIA federal agent .
Episode 20 : “ Matsya Nyaya ”
This is a marvelous sequence that delves more into Reese ’s CIA backstory , as well as his connexion to another operative named Stanton . Both were deploy in China to put down a cryptic computer but then they were doubly - crossed by Snow , a character we receive in Blue Code . In the present day , Snow is still trying to find Reese , even though Reese misrepresent his own decease .
sequence 22 : “ No Good Deed ”
