As for change , I ’d leave the story relatively inviolate , chuck the hints of misogyny and make Dana way less annoying and her overall narration more compelling . Also , I might address some odd emotional beats like Lisa get off the end of the SDF-1 and not grieve for her friend and comrades .

If I were in charge of the Robotech film franchise , I , personally , would ditch the entireness of Southern Cross and Next Generation . In fact , I ’d put the entire Zentraedi War of the Macross saga into the background so I could focalize only on the unbelievably perverted , authentic beloved narrative of Rick Hunter , Lynn Minmay , Lisa Hayes and Lynn Kyle . It would be four hours long , as befitsthe groovy sexual love tarradiddle of the twentieth century .

After that , who knows ? I still would n’t attempt to bring either Southern Cross or even Next multiplication to the silver screen . Harmony Gold turn them into parts of Robotech because that ’s the cloth they had available , not because they were arrant suitable for each other . It would be much more hearty for aggregate audiences to continue the adventures of Rick and Lisa .
