Nicolas Cageis in the news afterfiling for an annulmentfollowing his whirlwind marriage to girlfriendErika Koike.
Cage and Koike, a makeup artist,filed for a marriage licenseon Saturday and received their marriage certificate the same day, court records show. On Wednesday, the 55-year-old actor submitted an application for annulment,claiming he was too drunkwhen he agreed to marry her.
Koike has stayed off of the radar over the course of her relationship with Cage, so many details aren’t known about the actor’s newest ex-wife. (Cage had been married three times previously to Patricia Arquette, Lisa Marie Presley and Alice Kim.)
Here’s what we do know.
1. She’s a makeup artist
Koike’sIMDb pagelists her as a makeup artist, though she only has one credit, for the 2012 short filmHankikanto.
2. The pair has been together for at least a year
Cage and Koike have mostly kept their relationship low-profile, but the two were first linked when they were spotted vacationing together in Puerto Rico in April 2018.
They were photographed together again in May of that year while out to dinner in Los Angeles.

3. The couple filed for a marriage license on Saturday
Days before the annulment, Cageapplied for a marriage licensewith Koike in Clark County, Nevada. They received their marriage certificate on the same day, court records show. Cage’s annulment filing came four days later, on Wednesday.
Cage also claims that there is grounds for annulment since Koike didn’t “disclose to [Cage] the full nature and extent of her relationship with another person.”
On top of that, the Oscar winner claims that Koike didn’t inform him of her “criminal history,” including “additional active criminal proceedings.” The document doesn’t specify what the alleged criminal history or active proceeding is.
Like Cage, Koike was previously married.
4. It appears that she and Cage are done for good
Though the two could continue dating after the annulment, the court record shows that Cage requested a divorce if an annulment is not possible.
